A retired businessman, Colin began serious painting in 1989 and obtained a BA Hons degree in fine art at the University of Derby in 2003. Colin is a prominent member of the 'Morph Dynamic Creatives Group' and has had many solo exhibitions in and around Derbyshire.

Colin's atmospheric collection of Derbyshire landscapes capture the essence of historical buildings in a very modern style and portray much that is special and unique about the county.

Colin's work draws on the changing face of the Derbyshire industrial and domestic landscapes which present a very fascinating reflection upon local lifestyles and working environments. For Colin, it is the buildings in particular which provide an insight into local identity and a sense of belonging- stating  "When I look at buildings I am intrigued by their history and atmosphere"
