Rob Wareing
Rob studied art and painting techniques under various well-known artists in England and the USA, including master pastelist Daniel Greene, John Howard Sanden, Bob Gerbracht and Adrian Sanderman. In 1982 Rob became a member of the portrait institute of New York and attended an international portrait seminar in the USA where his pastel works recieved special mention. The following year Rob settled on the South Coast of Natal, where he purchased a local art gallery through which he exhibited his work and executed portrait commissions during the next few years. His clients included members of parliament, mayors, TV personalities and prominent business people. In November 1998, Rob was commissioned by De Beers mining to paint the official portrait of Festus Mogae, State President of Botswana.
