Jeremy C. Ford. F.I.G.A., B.W.S., Cert. Ed. ARTIST, ILLUSTRATOR, DEMONSTRATOR  & TEACHER

Jeremy Ford lives in Ackworth near Pontefract in West Yorkshire, U.K. He studied Graphic Design at Southport College of Art, in the North of England (1972-5) and Illustration at Harrow College of Art, London (1975-8) and has been a professional Artist and Illustrator since then, illustrating a wide variety of books, magazines, and greeting cards. He has had work commissioned by The Royal Horticultural Society, Bradford Exchange Limited Edition Plates, and American Express Travel Guides amongst others. Jeremy is a Fellow of the International Guild of Artists, a member of the British Watercolour Society, and has a Certificate in Education (Post 16.)

Jeremy is a Professional Associate of, and the current President of the Society for All Artists (S.A.A.) He currently demonstrates at many art events for the S.A.A. and has also demonstrated for St. Cuthberts Paper Mill, the makers of Bockingford and Saunders Waterford watercolour papers. He has also been Senior Tutor and Principal U.K. Demonstrator for the Michael Wilcox School of Colour, whose many publications he has contributed to.

He teaches his own private drawing & painting classes in Lancashire and Yorkshire to over a hundred people each week in the six regular classes. He has a particular interest in colour, paint and pigments and has considerable experience and knowledge of colour-related subjects. Jeremy tutors painting holiday breaks, and holds popular workshops in watercolour, oils, acrylics, pastels, and gouache to art societies and clubs throughout the U.K

Watercolour Flowers

18-19 May 2010

Single Occupancy: £315 Full board, 2 nights and 2 days tuition.

Course Description - Flowers

This 2-day course is indoor based and is for painters of all abilities who wish to improve their loose technique. There will be step-by-step demonstrations enabling you to build a picture from beginning to end. You will learn about the importance of light, contrast, colour, and tone, and how to bring all these elements together within flower painting. This is not Botanical Illustration but painting in a more loose, spontaneous way.

Watercolour Landscape

Course Description - Landscape

This course is for every ability who wish to improve and learn more. Particular attention will be given to the importance of light, tone and contrast, and how to apply these to painting in general. Weather permitting this will be outdoor based, going to appropriate places nearby and painting on site. The course will also cover overcoming common mistakes and painting problems people may have. If the weather is poor we will work in the studio from a variety of sources in a workshop situation. If you wish to buy any painting equipment or materials from Jeremy, you can do so during or after the course.

This recommended course is for all abilities and will improve your techniques in handling the mediums with worthwhile tuition, tips and advice from well known highly acclaimed professional artist and tutor.

Materials can be purchased at cost either from Jeremy or Pear Tree Farm. Easels and boards are provided but if you have a favourite and are able to get in the car, please bring them along.!
