Approaches to mixed media - lanscape painting.
Paul Lewin is a well known contemporary land and seascape artist based in West Cornwall. His work is highly atmospheric yet true to his subject. He often gives the viewer a strong sence of vertigo through his compositions - often depicting cliff falls and edifices. His meduim is mixed - watercolour, pastel, charcoal, ink etc. depending on the subjects need. Through studying the sea Paul has become expert at depicting water and reflected light. His work is predominantly achieved en plein air.
On this 3 day course Paul will give students the chance to experiment with mixed media painting techniques within the landscape. He will guide them into developing work that is a figurative response to the local landscape, and yet, through using some unusual and exciting techniques, retains a sense of movement and vitality.
