Sue Sareen MA. SOFA.

Sue has a long career in painting. Coming originally from Merseyside, she now lives in Nottingham. She has an M.A in Fine Art, and exhibits widely. Her paintings have won many awards and are in private collections world wide. The paintings are figurative, with a wide range of subject matter. There is always a strong sense of intimacy with the content of her paintings. She paints in a loose, expressive manner, aiming to capture the essence of the subject

As well as painting professionally, she runs regular classes and workshops on watercolour in her Nottingham studio, organises painting weekends and holidays abroad, and frequently demonstrates to Art Societies. The teaching is to all levels of ability and experience. She has also published a book and 2 videos on watercolour painting. She frequently contributes articles to “Leisure Painter,” the “Artist” and the “Artist & Illustrator”magazines.

Pen, Ink and Watercolour                               

19th-20th March 2013

Sue Sareen is an internationally renowned artist. Her style captures the essence of the subject matter with a companionate intimacy. This is a Landscape-themed course. Working in the farm studio, Sue will look at ways of combining pen, ink and watercolour to reflect aspects of the rich and varied Derbyshire landscape. Sue will tutor students as they discover new techniques and skills to improve their visual awareness, drawing, composition and colour.

Introduction to Atelier Oils                                

10-11th October 2013

£150 Day Attendance

£300 Residential

Atelier are interactive water soluble oils. Working in the farm studio from photographs and sketches, Sue will guide students in using this new and exciting medium. Unlike conventional oils or acrylics these paints combine the slower drying time found in oils, which enables blending with the convenience of using water as a medium.
