CAROL HILL  RBSA SWA SFP

Carol is an Member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists. She is a Member of the Society of Women Artists and a Member of the Society of Floral Painters. Carol learnt to paint whilst living in the Far East in the 1960’s and it was there that she was able to draw ideas from several different tutors.  She was taught to paint in oils and continued to do so for many years as well as Chinese painting.  This led to experimenting with watercolour and other mediums.  Carol’s subjects are mainly landscape, seascapes, flowers and still life. Carol is a qualified teacher in Adult Education and regularly teaches watercolours and oils through workshops, painting days and demonstrations to art groups around the country. Carol is President of the Matlock Artist’s Society.

2013 Course Details

Carol is a visiting Artist to Derbyshire Arts at Pear Tree Farm and runs her painting courses independantely. These courses are booked directly through Carol.

9-11th July 2013

These courses will allow students to develop their own styles, with experience of painting outside as well as studio work.  The emphasis will be on composition using tone and to add variety to every element creating harmony and interest. Students will be taught how to think about their painting in a more personal and expressive way.  Students will learn how to tackle problems whether you are relatively new to painting or an advanced painter.  Please note the courses for watercolour are not for absolute beginners. Oil painting courses are available for beginners to advanced painters.
