Description

These 2-day courses are aimed at all levels of artist from those wishing to create their first ever portrait to returners/improvers who need to take their work to the next level. You can even bring along existing paintings for constructive criticisms and help on improving them.

Have you ever looked at an oil portrait and wondered how it's done? Join Emma at Pear Tree Farm and discover your potential. Emma's friendly style of tuition encourages her students to explore the medium with helpful hints and tips on professional techniques, materials and composition.

Please bring your own photo of the portrait you wish to paint. Emma will guide you through the painting process from sizing up your image, design, drawing, mixing colours and paints. Instruction covers colour mixing, composition and techniques. Emma will cover all aspects of squaring up the image, laying in the background and finishing. Tuition is by structured demonstration and tutor/student question/answer sessions.

This course is suitable for all levels of ability as individual tution is given. Some materials are available at cost, however, easels and boards are provided.
